Berühren Sie in der Anwendung die Schaltfläche zur Aktivierung der Tastatur. Gehen Sie nach der Aktivierung zu:

Einstellungen> Allgemein> Internationale> Tastaturen>
Wählen Sie die Sprache Japanisch aus und schalten Sie die Tastatur ein.

Sie können nun Emoticons verwenden, indem Sie das Globus-Symbol Ihres iPhone, iPad oder iPod touch antippen. Bei fehlendem Globussymbol müssen Sie das Gerät aus- und wieder einschalten. Das Symbol erscheint anschließend neben der Leertaste

iOS 4 und ältere, auf iOS 4 aktualisierte Versionen:
